That bump you are carrying inspires you everyday. You can foresee how you are when changing diapers, preparing the milk bottle and watching a precious baby girl or boy sleeps on the crib. As you wait for that day he or she arrives, start learning some songs that someday you will introduce to your child. Begin with five of the all-time classic favorite baby lullabies and children’s songs.
1. Rock-a-Bye Baby
Also called as Hush-a-Bye Baby, this song is specifically made as lullaby for infants. It is a classic song which tune is very peaceful and soft, making it a great one to choose when putting your baby to sleep. You may play a downloaded song in your iPod or a CD player, but better learn the song yourself. Who knows, it won’t be too long before you have your second child, and that first-born would be too ready to learn the song and he or she will sing it to the sibling.
2. Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
A popular song known by not only children these days, but also adults and grandparents, is “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”. That is because they have been introduced to the same song over and over when they were younger. Go, ask any elder you know and most of them will start singing it to you. If in case you haven’t heard or memorized the entire lyrics of the song, it is never too late to learn it.
3. Baa, Baa, Black Sheep
This song is also a favorite by many kids around the world for many years. It is a great and fun song to sing in an alternative way. You can sing the very first line, the second line by your child, and so forth and so on.
4. Old MacDonald Had a Farm
A fun way to start educating your child or introducing animals and their sounds is the infamous “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” song. This is one of easiest songs to get familiar with by kids, even from early ages as 2 to 3 years old. It is much better if you put a twist by adding actions of your own so your baby is more entertained when you sing it for him or her.
5. Alphabet Song (ABC Song)
For the introduction of the English Alphabets, making a tune of the famous Alphabet Song, also known as the ABC Song, is a good start. You can hum every night as you put your baby to sleep, and begin uttering the lyrics with the tune as he or she grows older. After 3 years, your cute little baby will be able to sing it on his or her own. And even before he or she goes to school, your child already know all of the English Alphabets in order.
Songs are not just lullabies that help your child easily fall asleep or tunes that make their mood happier. You must not just familiarize the tunes of such songs for babies or kids, but rather learn them as a way to educate them.
