While breast milk is best for every baby, there are other foods you can make for them, especially when they begin to grow with teeth. Remember the food recipes listed below are not alternatives of milk. You are not recommended to replace milk with anything. You can only add these foods sometimes, such as once or twice a week. Recipe 1: Quinoa -Banana Mash

Quinoa is a soft, tiny food that is easy to munch. It is definitely appropriate for babies, even those with have no teeth yet. But combined with banana, it is a very healthy meal for your precious little one. Other than that, it can only take you around 15 minutes to finish this recipe. You won’t have to make your baby wait and cry when they are hungry.

Ingredients:
1/2 banana
3 tablespoons of cooked quinoa
a pinch of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of whole milk yogurt

Method:
1. Place banana in a small bowl to mash with spoon.
2. Add quinoa, cinnamon, and whole milk yogurt into the bowl
3. Stir all ingredients to combine well.

Recipe 2: Pineapple-Banana Smoothie

Banana is rich in fiber, while pineapple is packed with vitamin C. These are nutrients that help prevent certain sicknesses that are common in infants, such as cold and fever. When the fruits are combined to make as meal, it is a perfect blend for babies and toddlers. You can finish preparing a small bowl for 10 to 15 minutes.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of pineapple (eyed and chopped)
1 banana (peeled)
1 tablespoon of wheat germ
1/3 cup of whole milk yogurt

Method:
1. Using a blender or food processor, toss all ingredients and make a puree.
2. Transfer the puree in a bowl.
3. Optional: Freeze for 20 to 30 minutes and serve.

Recipe 3: Banana-Molasses Oatmeal

Molasses is a combination of sugarcane or sugar beets and grapes. Well, it contains B vitamins, calcium, fiber, iron, and potassium.

Ingredients:
1/2 banana
1/2 teaspoon of molasses
3 tablespoons of oatmeal cereal
2 tablespoons water

Method:

1. In a small bowl, toss all ingredients.
2. Mash with a spoon or fork and stir to combine well.
3. Serve without putting in the fridge.

Recipe 4: Peruvian Puree

This recipe is also soft with a tasty flavor that babies would love to eat. It features butternut squash and corn, but the addition of onion and garlic makes it more unique. For nutritional fact, squash is rich in potassium, so it’s still a healthy food.

Ingredients:
1/3 cup of corn (fresh or frozen)
1 1/2 cups of butternut squash (peeled and chopped)
1 garlic clove
1 tablespoon of onion (chopped)
1 tablespoon of cilantro leaves

Method:
1. Pour water in a pot
2. Add and steam butternut squash for 4 to 5 minutes.
2. While heat is still on, toss corn, garlic, and onion.
3. Stir to combine all ingredients. Cook for another 3 to 5 minutes.
4. Remove all ingredients from the pot. Transfer into a blender or a food processor to make puree.
4. Place in a bowl and refrigerate.

Recipe 5: Cheesy Chicken Casserole

Babies are naturally attracted to cheese. This food makes it a great choice for them. But it does not only taste sweet and cheesy. It is also rich in vitamins and minerals, as chicken gives protein and also fat, while vegetables provide beta carotene, potassium, and calcium.

Ingredients:
15 organic baby carrots
1 russet potato (cubed)
1 chicken breast (skinless and boneless)
1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast
1/4 cup cheddar or organic Colby cheese (shredded)

Method:
1. In a steamer, combine carrots, potato, and chicken with water. Boil until vegetables become soft.
2. Remove from the pot and toss into a blender or a food processer.
3. Add breast, nutritional yeast, and cheese. Blend to make a puree.
4. Pour water into the mixture. Stir to combine all ingredients.
5. Refrigerate before serving.

With these food recipes, your baby won’t only enjoy tasting them but also get some nutrients that are beneficial for their growth, development, and overall health.
